Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9
Life is what it is. Sometimes we can predict it sometimes we can't. We may even try to manipulate it but it may not always work out the way we plan. I'm learning that when your life is in God's hands you should never underestimate or doubt what God can and will do in and through you. But ... you have to do it God's way. I've begun a Bible study on the book of 1 Samuel. In the first chapter we see Hannah praying earnestly for a child and receiving her request the following year. She kept her promise to give him back to God and after she had weaned him she took him to the Tabernacle and left him there. Hannah did finally get what she wanted but she had to do it God's way. God allowed her the opportunity to spend some time with her son before dedicating him to His service. God is still just and fair and He knew the child would need his mother in those early stages, just like Moses. Moses' mother got to take care of her own son before relinquishing him completely to the care of Pharaoh's daughter. God is not deaf or blind to the cries and tears of our heart. However, when we do it God's way the rewards will be great. Moses became a great leader over Israel and helped lead them out of Egypt. Samuel became a great prophet in Israel and Hannah bore more children after giving him back to God. God never fails us and will always do great things in and through us when we give our best to Him first. Both Samuel and Moses grew up in the best place to prepare them for their destiny. Samuel grew up in the Tabernacle and was prepared there to minister before the Lord and His people and to become the greatest prophet in Israel. Moses was brought up in Pharaoh's palace and was trained there to become a great leader over his people, Israel. He needed leadership training so what better place to receive that training than in a king's palace!!?? God knows just where to put us to train us for great things in Him. Never doubt God's leading or plan. It may not always seem pleasant, the circumstances that put us there may not always be favourable, but believe that God has a plan and purpose behind it which will unfold in due time. Trust God's hand even in the midst of your negative circumstances. As I said earlier, once your life is in God's hands, never doubt what God will do in and through you. God is still the God of the impossible. He is not hindered by negative circumstances or situations but rather thrives on them and uses them to do great and awesome things in and through us!
